Get up, go out, give back: Volunteering near you
Your time is your most precious asset. We know you’re busy but between all the plastics you don’t recycle, all the food you let get moldy in your fridge, and all the volunteer opportunities in our community, now is as good of a time as ever to sacrifice a few hours for the greater good.
Here are just a few ways to give back locally:
Franklinton Gardens: Get some dirt under those otherwise well-groomed nails, bring life to a plant, beautify the community, and get some much-needed vitamin D. BYOA (bring your own agua)
4th Street Farms: Give time, get food. Get involved with the movement towards sustainable food systems.
Broad Street Food Pantry: Join in the mission to help local families put healthy food on their table.
Franklin County Dog Shelter: Play with puppies! Give as much or as little of your time as you can to help keep the dogs in the shelter clean, healthy, and happy. There is plenty that needs done so choose from a long list of volunteer opportunities for a truly mutually beneficial experience.
Franklin County Children Services: Do you enjoy hanging out with kids? Are you 18 years old? Exude your wisdom upon local youth. A few hours of your time could mean the world to a young person.
RecyColumbus: Join the infantry working to encourage recycling. Reusing materials is rad and you could be an advocate for it!
