Judy Malinowski’s daughter testifies in front of committee
Judy Malinowski’s oldest daughter, 13-year-old Kaylyn Malinowski, stood before the Senate Judiciary Committee at the Ohio Statehouse yesterday to give an emotional testimony about what Judy’s Law means to her mom.
The law, now just two votes away from reaching Gov. Kasich’s desk, would increase the sentence for attackers who intentionally disfigure someone with an accelerant (like gas) by six years.
Judy Malinowski is the Gahanna woman who was seriously disfigured when her ex-boyfriend doused her with gasoline and set her on fire two years ago. Doctor’s say her odds to live aren’t high.
“The man who hurt her, took away a lot from my family,” said Kaylyn in her testimony. “He took away my mom, he took away my grandma’s time and most of all he took away the most precious and most gorgeous person everyone knew.”
