Local LAZ Parking employee recognized for bravery, citizenship

A local man has been recognized by a national company for his bravery and strength on the day the OSU student ran his car into a crowd of people and began swinging a knife.

Anderson Payne was one of the 13 people injured that day. He was a student at the time and an employee at LAZ Parking in Columbus. He attempted to help others hit by the vehicle but his hand was seriously cut by the attacker.

His heroism that day did not go unnoticed. Nor did his six years of military service. Cintas has named Payne the winner of their Everyday Impact Hero award.

Cintas is a name you’ve probably seen on paper town dispensers and on pretty much everything if you’ve ever worked in the food service industry. They are a business out of Cincinnati that provides all kinds of materials–like floor mats, uniforms, rags, etc.–to other business.

They know hard-working, selfless employees and citizens when they see them and Payne is definitely one of them.
