Move over, toddlers, my Beretta M9 is coming through.
Today, the Ohio House gave the a-OK to House Bill 233 which would allow people carrying concealed firearms to legally walk passed a “no guns allowed” sign posted at airports, schools, and daycare centers. The only catch is that they have to leave when asked or would face jail time and fines. But after 30 days, people would be able to return with their gun to the same place they were asked to leave.
Currently, if a person walks into a designated gun-free zone with a firearm, they would face immediate criminal charges or have their gun confiscated.
HB 233 is being informally referred to as the “Decriminalization Effort for Ending Notorious Deaths,” or DEFEND Act.
