Pooches on patios: Cool or contaminating?

At home, you may be sharing food with your dog right off your fork but at any licensed food service establishments, pups are not allowed. Unless they’re therapy dogs, of course. That’s right “Pups on the Patio” events are actually a state health code violation.
This isn’t a new law but the Columbus Public Health Department has been receiving a hell of a lot of questions regarding this issue. The state issued a letter to restaurants, reminding them of this policy and the consequences for violating it. Some people are taking action to bar pooches on their patios. Others are operating as they please.
Is see that sorrowful look on your dog’s face when you leave them at home worth a hairless, slobber-less patio experience?
