Three tiny Tiggers born at the Cbus Zoo

Congrats, it’s triplets!

Three itty bitty orange and black striped cats were born at the Columbus Zoo last week. Unfortunately, a fourth baby was stillborn but Mama Mara is tending to her trio of perfect, healthy cubs like an all-star.

“Tiger cubs are quite fragile at birth, but Mara’s cubs are currently thriving under her care with the assistance of our dedicated animal care staff and veterinarians,” said President/CEO Tom Stalf. “We are pleased to welcome the cubs and to continue being a part of conservation efforts to protect the future of this species.”

Their father, Jupiter, has sired three litters now, making him a very busy dad.

The sexes of the baby tigers won’t be known until their check-up scheduled in the coming weeks. The tree unnamed siblings will be among less than 400 Amur–or Siberian– tigers in their natural habitat of the forest of the Russian Far East. Just at the Columbus Zoo, the Tigger trifecta will join six other tigers of the same species.
