WOW! users don’t have to fear internet usage caps
Wide Open West (WOW!) has promised its users to not implement broadband internet usage caps. They issued a press release titled, “WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone Takes Consumer Side in Data Cap Debate.” The debate they’re referring to is whether or not usage caps are necessary.
AT&T as well as Comcast (which is pretty obsolete in Central Ohio but has a strong presence in other areas of the state) have both imposed such caps taking the side that they are necessary due to network congestions, and fairness.
WOW! says to hell with that. They’re not going to limit you to GBs and terabytes and nonsense like that. They stated in their press release that when they were developing, they foresaw the impeding surge in internet-connected devices in the home and invested early to create a better experience for users without limitations.
“Consumers can use their WOW! Internet how they want it, when they want it, with no limit – how Internet should be,” they said.
Currently, the only variations in WOW! plans are data speed. Spectrum is another prominent internet provider in central Ohio and offers plans without usage caps.
