Last month, we shared the news of Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center’ new Holiday Sleepover program with you.

This month, GMA has shared it with America.

The new program, which allows community members to take home a dog for a few days this holiday season, is designed to give dogs a taste of normalcy and show families the joy dogs can bring to their lives.

As of December 5, 66 pooches have been holiday guests with 22 of them resulting in finding their forever homes!

One of those lucky dogs is Rosie.

“We were hoping to find a dog, we had plans not to do it [until] 2019,” Connelly told “Good Morning America.” “But Rosie had other plans for us.”

Rosie meshed easily with Connelly’s family and began soliciting belly rubs almost immediately.

“She’s been through a lot,” she added on GMA. “And we are glad that she is ours now.”
