National Geographic documentary showcases passion, dedication of Columbus Zoo

Then check out the “Secrets of the Zoo,” a six-hour miniseries premiering Sunday on National Geographic Wild.
The episodes take viewers behind the scenes at all the passion and dedication that goes into making the Zoo what it is.
That passion and dedication is what drew producer Guy Nickerson to the Columbus Zoo in the first place, reports The Dispatch.

“Secrets of the Zoo” covers medical care, preservation efforts, and the day-to-day duties of staff members at the Zoo and The Wilds.
According to the Dispatch, viewers are taken on an emotional journey through tense birthing moments and rescue missions.
There are also moments of comic relief, too.
“Secrets of the Zoo” will premiere Sunday with back-to-back to episodes at 9 and 10 p.m. on Nat Geo Wild. The series will then continue on Sundays at 9 p.m. through Aug. 26.
