Ohio Is a Goal-Scoring Machine

The Ohio Machine started their 2018 campaign defending their 2017 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) title in championship-level form this past weekend by beating the New York Lizards 25-13.

“To have the guys score a team record and then Marcus (#1 Marcus Holman) just go off…it’s amazing what they can do. They’re some of the best players in the world,” said Ryan Chenault, President of the Ohio Machine.

But what if you, like Mr. Chenault, did not grow up in one of the central Ohio communities with a top high school lacrosse program?

“I think if you come here and see the game, you’re going to be hooked,” Mr. Chenault said.

And in addition to the lacrosse action, there’s a Beer Garden. There are games available to play with family, friends and/or fellow fans during the quarter breaks whilst enjoying a tasty brew (or non-alcoholic beverage) along with a great field-level view of the action.

FYI – For every beer purchased in the Beer Garden, $1 of the sale will go to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

The Ohio Machine (1-0) host the Charlotte Hounds (2-0) this Saturday at 5 p.m. at Fortress Obetz.

Clippers Defeat Louisville With Their Bats

The Columbus Clippers seem to win a game or two and then lose a game or two. Perhaps that’s just the nature of baseball.

While down in Kentucky to play the Louisville Bats, Columbus flexed their muscles and bats to take down Louisville 10-6 to even the series after losing 7-2 on Monday night.

The Clippers lit up the Bats with 10 combined runs in the first five innings. By the time the Bats tallied their first run in the sixth—and subsequent runs—it was too late for a rally as Columbus held tough defensively to prevent a comeback.

The Columbus Clippers (11-12) will play the Louisville Bats (9-12) today at Slugger Field before returning home for a 4-game series against the Charlotte Knights (10-14) that will start tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. through a Sunday afternoon ballgame with a first pitch scheduled for 2:05 p.m. at Huntington Park.
