City releases chill-provoking video of Hilton Columbus Downtown expansion

Update: The Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority and the City of Columbus are committing to the expansion of the Hilton Columbus Downtown and have released a chill-inducing video to show its monumentality.

If approved, “Hilton 2.0” would be completed by 2021.

03/05/2018: Everyone loves sequels, right? Well, the jury’s still out on that one but whether you like it or not, Hilton Columbus Downtown is getting a new addition.

The hotel attached to the Greater Columbus Convention Center is expected to announce an expansion across North High Street to add 470 beds which will bring the count up to an even 1,000.

More beds = more hosting opportunities for national events 

“Hilton 2.0” also calls for an 18,000-square-foot ballroom, and 42,000 square feet of meeting/conference rooms, reports The Dispatch. It’s expected to cost between $162 million and $190 million.
