Just over 10% of Parsons Ave. apt complex to be “affordable”
A 78-unit apartment complex with ground floor retail is coming to Parsons Ave.
Of the 78 units, eight will be “affordable.”
Ground has broken at 122 Parsons Ave. in Olde Towne East for The Yardley.
The name is a nod to Yardley Manufacturing Co. which used to manufacture plastics and rubber on the site, reports Columbus Business First.
A majority of the units will be studios and 1-bedrooms with the rest being 2 and 3-bedrooms.

Balconies off some of the apartments will offer views of the downtown.
Pricing hasn’t exactly been hammered out yet but The Dispatch reports the regular asking price for one-bedrooms will start at $1,100.
The Yardley will receive a 15-year, 100 percent tax abatement from the city of Columbus.
The building will hold four apartments for households making up to 80 percent of the median annual income in the Columbus metropolitan statistical area, and four for those making up to 100 percent of the median, per the city’s new tax-abatement requirements.
