Flat parking lots along the Long Street corridor downtown could soon have some height.

Two small developments were introduced to the Downtown Commission for an area dominated by big residential units.

At the northeast corner of East Long and North 6th streets, Edwards Cos. wants to turn the block into a four-story, 257-space parking garage with a 1,950-square-foot retail space fronting Long Street and potential dog park, reports Columbus Business First.

The land is owned by Gay Street Condominium LLC.

The second development is proposed for three blocks away the south end of the parking lot at 274 E. Long St.

This project would consist of a three-story, three-unit condominium strip, reports Columbus Business First.

Urban Restorations owns this land.

Also in the area, Charles Street Investment Partners LLC is moving forward with a seven-story mixed-use residential development at 230 E. Long St. and Schottenstein Property Group has been approved for another mixed-use residential development at 154 N. 3rd St.
