Ohio State moving forward with $160M Arts District

In order to make room for bigger and better things, Ohio State may have to trample over a decades-old part of campus history.

The Drake Performance and Events Center is likely headed for demolition as part of the university’s plan for a $160 million Arts District and the ongoing Cannon Drive relocation.

The plan also involves building a new Depart of Theatre building, expanding the School of Music facility, and redesigning Annie and John Glenn Avenue so it connects High Street to College Avenue.

Construction of the Arts District is scheduled to begin in May of 2019 and wrap up by August of 2021.
