Rumor revealed: North Market Director debunks tower rendering

Last week, an alleged new rendering for the North Market Tower was circling the internet but we can confirm this is NOT the form the project will take.

“I will say, [the rumored rendering] is not being considered any longer,” Executive Director of North Market Rick Harrison Wolfe told 614now.

See rendering below

He added that there have been many versions of various sizes and designs for the tower since the planning process with Wood Schiff began last year.

“We will be presenting the newest iteration to the city and public within the near future,” said Wolfe.

So sit tight and stay tuned to 614now for the official release of new North Market Tower renderings.

09/25/2018: Rumors are swirling that one of the most-anticipated developments in Columbus will be a bigger part of the skyline than what was originally thought.

People on the internet are claiming the Market Tower, a development planned for the parking lot adjacent to the North Market, has grown from 35 stories to closer to 40.

On the left you’ll see the original rendering made public on developer Schooley Caldwell’s website.

On the right is the rendering circulating the internet.

According to someone on the Market Tower Urban Ohio Forum thread who claims to be connected with the project, the new rendering was not supposed to be released to the public.

“Basically at this point I can confirm the rendering was not supposed to be public yet and I can confirm the structure will be taller than the proposed 35 floors. There are goals in place to get things moving before years end but there’s basically one last barrier being working through. I think you all will be VERY VERY pleased with the details, makeup, and height once it is all released.”

Here are some more renderings for you to mull over until we can confirm these reports.
