Some of you are probably still ticked at Gateway University District for closing Ugly Tuna and Mad Mex but maybe things aren’t as bad as you originally thought.

Following an announcement of a new bar and restaurant called Good Night John Boy and a new laboratory store for Abercrombie & Fitch Co. opening, three more business have been planned for the area.

On the retail side, City Gear will be opening this fall in the space at 1624 N High St. and offer shoes and apparel from brands like Nike, Adidas, North Face, and Converse.

As far as food and drink, Elia Athenian Grill and Coffee Connections will both be setting up shop in the Gateway.

For former will be a fast causal place at 14 E 11th St. slinging pitas, salads, and grain bowls come September. Elia has a storefront in downtown.

Coffee Connections from Hilliard will also operate a coffee, slushie, and milkshake store in Gateway. They’re looking to open this fall at 1572 N. High St.

Neither spaces left vacant by Ugly Tuna and Mad Mex have been filled.
