About a month ago, CBC Restaurant announced they’d be closing and rebranding as Oxbow on Short. Today in an emotional post on Facebook, they announced the restaurant would be closing permanently.

“Owner, Doug Griggs has been very sick and in the hospital for a few months now, he is currently unable to perform the restaurant remodel from CBC to Oxbow on Short,” wrote CBC Restaurant on Facebook.

The plan was for CBC Restaurant to shut down August 31 and reopen as Oxbow on Short shortly thereafter under the same owner and operator.

Instead, the final day of operation for the restaurant at 525 Short St. in the Brewery District will be tomorrow, July 29.

CBC Restaurants encourages the community to stop by and celebrate their 21 years of service.

They’ll be open until 6pm.

“As our hearts are breaking for the restaurant, we ask all of you to send thoughts and prayers to him and his family,” wrote CBC Restaurant. “Thank you for all the memories and years of support.”
