ComFest taps local breweries for exclusive beer selections
The fruit of Columbus’ festival labor is drilling down even deeper into local culture for its 46th year.
ComFest, described in a press release as the city’s annual alternative culture festival, is shifting its beer selections to exclusively local craft breweries this year.
The libation stations will be anchored by Four String’s Hilltop Lager and Columbus Brewing’s IPA, Summerteeth, and Thunderlips.
“Building community has always been the focus of the festival, so this is a natural progression,” Kevin Brammer, Libations Committee co-chair, said. “This highlights our commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and brings the quality craftsmanship of local brewers to ComFest’s diverse community.”
ComFest’s beer sales will not be limited to the festival site, though. Three other local breweries— Sideswipe Brewing, Combustion Brewery, and Two-Tones Brewing—have partnered up to produce the limited edition “ComFest beer” which debuts each year in time for the Goodale Park festivities.

A buck from each ComFest beer sale will go towards supporting local organizations. ComFest has helped raise more than $500,00o for our community since its inception in 2001.
ComFest began as an OSU-area street festival back in 1972 and has grown to a three-day celebration—arguably one of the city’s most popular annual events.
The festival has functioned for nearly half a decade without corporate sponsorship thanks to its many dedicated volunteers.
Comfest will be held June 22 through June 24 in Goodale Park.
