Franklin Park Conservatory bountiful fall harvest on display

It may still feel like summer but by golly, Franklin Park Conservatory is prepped for fall.

Thousands upon thousands of pumpkins and ornamental gourds will descend upon Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens for the largest Harvest Blooms display, open daily beginning September 22 through October 28.

The exhibit includes:

  • 5,000 ornamental gourds, pumpkins and squash
  • 1,500 ornamental kale, cabbage etc.
  • 4,500 flowering Chrysanthemums (aka hardy mums)
  • A 10-ft tall “Pumpkin House” in the new Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden

“This year’s Harvest Blooms is possibly one of the Conservatory’s strongest horticulture exhibitions yet,” said Horticulture Exhibitions Designer Garet Martin. “This is the best place in central Ohio to become fully immersed in the fall season.”

And of course, the exhibit will be accompanied by the fan-favorite, The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch sale from 10am-4pm, September 21-23, featuring hundreds of collectable, premium glass pumpkins that have been hand crafted by local and nationally known gaffers.

Other exhibitions currently on display include Topiaries at the Conservatory (ending Oct. 28); Field by Design I/O, a motion-sensitive digital ecosystem that grows and blooms based on visitors’ movements and the annual Bonsai Display (ending Nov. 11).
