Swapping tires for table: Lebanese truck turns brick and mortar
Mr. Hummus Grill, a once-five food truck strong fleet, is trading in the tires for tables. Tarek Albast has opened up his first brick and mortar restaurant at 1450 Bethel Road. The place was formerly occupied by Shish Kebab.
Of the location, Albast told This Week News, “The area is not ‘high’ high-end but, still, you’ve got a lot of options.”
Mr. Hummus Grill offers scratch-made Mediterranean grub at down to earth prices like specialty hummus (obviously), shawarma, lamb, soujouk (a spicy sausage), with a touch of Western culture like falafel burgers and tacos.
Most appetizers are $7 to$9 and most entrees are $14 to $19.
The space seats 100 plus 25 more in the private dining area and 39 out on the patio.
While Albast is sitting pretty in his new permanent digs, he foresees a time where he will take his food trucks on the road once again.
Mr. Hummus Grill’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
