Beep beep, second worst drivers in the state coming through

Columbus drivers are bad and keep getting worse but we’re not as bad as Cincinnati drivers, according to findings from Allstate insurance.

Out of the country’s 200 largest metro areas, Columbus ranked 131st with drivers averaging a claim every 7.7 years and are 30.3 percent more likely to file a claim than the national average.

And for every 1,000 miles Columbus drivers travel, we do about 18 hard brakes, reports Columbus Business First per the Allstate study.

Columbus dropped three spots this  year.

Cincinnati came in last in the state, at No. 172, with drivers filing claims about every 6.8 years which is 47 percent higher than the national average.

Other ranked areas in Ohio:

• Akron was highest in the state at No. 35, and drivers there go 9.8 years per claim.
• Dayton was 55th with 9.1 years between claims.
• Toledo was No. 66 with 8.8 years between claims.
• And Cleveland was 90th, at 8.4 years between claims.

Worst drivers in the U.S.: Baltimore, Maryland.

Best drivers in the U.S.: Brownsville, Texas.
