Giant selfie machine in Convention Center is an international hit
It may never reach the popularity level of Kylie Jenner’s baby but the Columbus Convention Center sculpture “As We Are” is making heads turn all over the world (pun sort of intended).
The artist behind the piece, CCAD professor Matthew Mohr, told The Dispatch he gets contacted on a daily basis regarding the sculpture by the likes of Barcelona, China, Japan, and Vancouver.
Of course, “As We Are” has garnered attention within our boarders as well. Huffington Post and Roadside America have both gotten ahold of the story.
People on Trip Advisor seem to like the Convention Center addition, as well.
The six-month old 3-D sculpture is shaped like a human head and is made from thousands of LED screen ribbons. The photo booth in the back takes 3D photos of participants and projects them on the 14-foot work of art. As of late last month, over 10,000 people have made use of the interactive public artwork.
