Last pumpkins picked at Pickaway family farm market

The pumpkins were picked for the last time yesterday at a Pickaway County family farm market.

Renick’s Family Market is officially closed after almost 60 years in business.

Owner David Renick told NBC4i his decision to retire wasn’t an easy one for him or his family to make, saying, “Farming gets in your blood and it’s something you do and something you grow up with. My father built this market in 1959,”

David and his wife Linda are enjoying their 45th year of marriage and are prepared to embark into the next stage of life.

While the community is sad to see Renick’s sow their last seeds, they’ve had a chance to come out and bid their farewells, pick their last pumpkins, and purchase their final homemade treats, decorations, and cider slushies.

Thank you for your many years of service, Renick’s. You will be greatly missed!
