Let us hear your howls, Columbus, the Ohio House passed a bill allowing dogs on patios!
House Bill 263 would permit pooches to hang out in outdoor dining areas if and when the following requirements are met:
- An employee could not intentionally touch a dog
- Food or water for a dog must be served in a single-use container
- Establishments must post a sign if they are dog-friendly to let guests know
- Dogs must be on leashes
- Businesses must keep a sanitary-waste-disposal kit on hand
Land-Grant Brewing Co. and Seventh Son Brewing were both huge advocates for the measure, reports The Dispatch.
Not only will dog owners be happier knowing they have the option to bring their canine companion out for a few summer drinks, but the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Laura Lanese, R-Grove City, says the bill would help with tourism and eliminate unnecessary business regulations.
