Vibrant, hospitable, cherished: Lindey’s founder’s battle with cancer comes to an end
Our thoughts are with the Lindey’s restaurant and Doody family today as they mourn the loss of Sue Doody, the founder of Lindey’s.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother and grandmother, Sue Doody – founder of Lindey’s, whose valiant and tough-fought battle with cancer has come to an end,” wrote the Doody family on Lindey’s Facebook page.
There’s a tribute to Sue posted on the Lindey’s website, asking members of the community to share their memories of her to celebrate her life.
“Sue was happiest when she was working tirelessly at her beloved Lindey’s, where she built a lasting legacy – creating jobs and careers for countless people, developing gourmet recipes, and welcoming thousands of guests over 38 years of hospitality,” reads the tribute. “Her vibrant personality and love for serving others transcended her personal life into her restaurant life – with her extended family of employees and the many ‘regulars’ who visited Lindey’s.
