“Warning: Abortion Clinic Opening,” new clinic met with resistance

A new clinic on the Northeast Side opened its doors today and was met with new patients as well as anti-abortion protestors.

Your Choice Healthcare at 6721 Karl Road is offering services including non-surgical abortions (pills for women with pregnancies of up to nine weeks and six days, reports The Dispatch), birth control, and annual pelvic exams.

Local anti-abortion group Created Equal posted on Facebook that the clinic, “sits next to and shares a small parking lot with StarZone children’s daycare. Neighbors are very upset with the opening of the abortion clinic.”

“Independently owned and operated by women, we believe everyone deserves affordable pro-choice healthcare in a safe, non-judgmental space,” Your Choice Healthcare’s website said. “We want you to feel empowered to make your own decisions.”

Created Equal wrote that the clinic “is operated by the same group that ran the recently closed Founders Women Health Center located at 1243 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH. Founders had a sordid history which includes unpaid fines to the Ohio Department of Health, and tax liens by the City of Columbus, State of Ohio, and the IRS.”
