Gay Softball World Series bringing pride, $$$ to Cbus in 2020

On the tails of NCAA Women’s Final Four dunking on the city, Columbus will host the nation’s largest annual, LGBT single-sport competition for the third time.

The Gay Softball World Series will return to Columbus in 2020, brining with it 5,000 participants from 25 states and several Canadian provinces who are projected to spend as much as $7 million on food, transportation, hotel rooms, etc.

Chris Balton, commissioner of the North American Gay Athletic Alliance, called Columbus the “total package” for the Gay Softball World Series with its great sporting facilities and dynamic, walkable downtown offerings.

The sporting event previously came to Columbus in 2010 and 2015 and played at Berliner Park, reports The Dispatch.
