Midwest Photo is definitely taking a picture of this achievement so it’ll last longer. A national photo publication has named the Columbus photo and video equipment store the 2017 Dealer of the Year.

“A family-owned business with traditional values, Midwest Photo has thrived by embracing change and focusing on relationship building,” wrote Digital Imaging Reporter.

Digital Imaging Reporter is the only trade magazine that delivers news specifically targeted to the imaging and photo business owned by the former VP of Nikon. They credited Midwest Photo’s success to founder Stu Appelbaum and his savvy business skills, Midwest’s very own lighting line LumoPro, and Stu’s son Moishe stepping up and taking the reigns.

The shop’s relocation from north High St. with limited parking to a more roomy spot on Silver Dr. has also played a role. There, Midwest is able to carry more merchandise and hold more educational seminars to share their wealth of knowledge with rookies.

Digital Imagine Reporter really delved into the history and culture of Midwest Photo so to get the whole scoop, click here.
