Gordon Bombay would totally sport Scarlet & Gray this weekend

If you were a kid during the ‘90s, you may get chills of nostalgia from a video the #6 Ohio State men’s hockey team released as a promo for their Beat *ichigan Week and forthcoming two-game series at home against the #17 team up north this weekend.

Bucks vie (for wins) together! The puck for this highly-anticipated series in Columbus will drop tomorrow night at the Schott at 7pm and this Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Schott.

Crew SC Is More Than OK

Scoring machine Ola Kamara’s departure to the Los Angeles Galaxy (a club that tied for dead last in points in MLS last year) for USMNT forward Gyasi Zardes (26-years-old) and $400K in Targeted Allocation Money, was reportedly fueled by some combination of his desire to live on the west coast and likely by the uncertainty of the Crew SC’s future in Columbus beyond the 2018 season. But why leave the city that nearly hosted what would have (should have) been an epic MLS Cup for the ages a couple months back and a team that will continue to have the spotlight of MLS fans and commentators all season long?

Regardless, Crew SC Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter is a deftly-skilled recruiter of talent who brought in Mr. Kamara (both Ola and Kei – the second time). And given Mr. Berhalter’s coaching success with forwards, it will be interesting to see if Mr. Zardes showcases a renaissance of sorts in central Ohio, even without the surname Kamara. Also, keep an eye out as to where Mr. Zardes will lineup on the pitch this season as it may or may not always be as a forward…
