Local teacher accused of breaking student’s hand

A local teacher is looking at felony charges after being accused of breaking a child’s hand.

According to court documents per 10TV, David Ring, a teacher at Image Columbus Primary Academy, told his students to put their heads down.

When one student did not do as asked, Ring allegedly took the student into the hallway and unsuccessfully tried to sit them down in a chair.

Court docs allege Ring then used force to put the child “into a chair while the child’s hand was underneath him” which caused the child to fracture his hand.

Ring was arraigned in Franklin County Municipal Court this week on charges of child endangerment and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
