Park rangers discover tied-up victim in Scioto Audubon Metro Park

A homeless man has been arrested and charged with rape and kidnapping after park rangers discovered him and his victim at Scioto Audubon Metro Park Saturday at 9am.

David Shearer, a registered sex offender since 2002, kidnapped a woman, tied her up with surgical tubing, choked her, and raped her. Rangers happened upon Shearer and his victim in some tall grass.

NBC4i reports Shearer has failed to properly register his address five times and in 2004, wrote a letter to a judge pleading to stay out of prison. “Please, just one last chance out there while alert and awake like I am now,” he wrote. “I promise not to to disappoint you.”

10TV reports he will be due in court March 20.
