A man has been arrested in connection to the woman whose body was found burned in an Upper Arlington park earlier this month.

Mohamed Abdullahi, 27, was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse and arson, according to UA police per 10TV.

Abdullahi was a person of interest in the death of 23-year-old Bobbie Simpson and was apprehended through a routine traffic stop. Turns out, he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police say DNA taken from Simpson’s body matched Abdullahi.

Tuesday morning, Abdullahi was given a $1 million bond. According to the conditions of his bond, he must stay away from the location of the incident and Simpson’s family.

He is scheduled to be back in court Nov. 1.

A preliminary autopsy report suggests Simpson’s body was placed in a container before it was set on fire in Burbank Park on Sunday, October 14.

The report also shows obvious signs of trauma to the body. An official ruling of death has not been determined.
