According to a report from Fox 28 Columbus, two burglars were reportedly able to sneak into an unlocked home and steal a TV from the downstairs of the apartment while the two people who lived in place were upstairs. You’re probably asking, “How?!” Well, thanks to the song “Whip It” by Devo being played in the apartment at a loud level, the burglars were able to get inside the home without being heard by the residents.

Check out what the home owner had to say to Fox 28 Columbus:

“The TV was on even when they came in. But I just didn’t notice the noise that disappeared. They were very quiet. I didn’t hear them downstairs at all.”

The theft was caught on video and the police are hoping the video will help lead to the arrest of the suspects. Know any information about the crime? You are encouraged to contact Detective Dent in CPD’s Burglary Unit at 614-645-2257 or by email.
