Columbus Library’s Oak Street Apartments starting new chapter

The Columbus Metropolitan Library is parting with an apartment building and we bet you can guess what the property will be redeveloped into.

The Grant Oak Apartments at S. Grant Avenue and Oak Street just north of CML’s Main Library has been sold to Pizzuti Cos. who will transform the 1.25-acre site into a mixed-use development. Ground-floor retail space and multi-family apartments in two five-story buildings are planned.

“We’re extremely pleased to continue our work with Columbus Metropolitan Library,” Pizzuti said. “This is a key site in the Discovery District and will further cement the area as one of our city’s vibrant, walkable neighborhoods.”

The new development will include approximately 120 apartments ranging from studio to two-bedroom units. If you’re interested in one of these apartments, opt for the eastern portion so you can wake up every morning to a view of Topiary Park. But the view of downtown from the western portion isn’t too bad, either.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2018.
