Suds and sounds collide at Grandview’s newest pub, record shop and recording suite, Craft & Vinyl, opening August 15.

The location at 1806 West 5th avenue in Grandview has been completely renovated from its former use as a thrift shop and shoe repair.

Drink Up Columbus reports the Craft & Vinyl bar seats six, the pub table seats 10, and the capacity of the two leather couches depends on how apt guests are to snuggling.

There are also a couple pinball machines.

The records are displayed in a couple stands near the front windows with new vinyl lining the wall.

The recording studio offers musicians instruments including Les Paul, Ibanez, and digital drums for production.

For those more interested in drinking and covering Spice Girls than making it to #1, Craft & Vinyl offers “Song and Drink Party” package and it’s similar to those “paint and sip” parties except instead of an embarrassing canvas, you can walk away with an even more embarrassing CD of you and your group’s final karaoke song together.

Initial store hours will be Monday-Thursday 12pm-9pm; Friday and Saturday 12pm-10pm; and Sunday 12pm-5pm.

Owner Troy Stacy hails from Upper Arlington and is a “weekend warrior” for the band Crushing Gravity.

He left his job as a Senior Manager of Digital Marketing at Nationwide to pursue his passion of combining good drinks, good music, and recording music under one roof.
