Ohio becomes 1st state to permanently display constitution in Statehouse

You can now view Ohio’s two constitutions anytime you please.

Ohio’s two constitutions are permanently on display at the Statehouse, making us the first state to do so.

The exhibit opened this week on the eve of the original constitution’s signing 216 years ago.

WOSU reports the 1802 constitution and the subsequent one from 1851 can be found beneath protective cases in the Statehouse museum.

Alongside them are interactive displays on how they’ve changed over time.
