Urban Meyer releases post-suspension statement + watch press conference

Following the end of his suspension and ahead of his first press conference back as head coach, Urban Meyer has released a statement.

Meyer was suspended without pay for three games for mishandling the domestic abuse allegations against his former wide receivers coach Zach Smith.

The suspension was lifted September 16.

Interim head coach Ryan Day led the team to three straight wins.

In the statement, Meyer recognized Day’s leadership, his shortcomings when it came to handling Smith, his stance on domestic violence, his sympathy for Smith’s wife, Courtney, and their children, and his promise to excellence from here on out.
