A local candy shop is in jeopardy after more than a century of business.

Eagle Family Candy could close as early as November if they are not able to raise enough money to buy their High Street building.

The Eagles have launched a GoFundMe page with a goal of $215,000 before November 5 when the building is scheduled to be listed, reports The Dispatch.

Ninety-one-year-old Deloris Eagle, who is in poor health and lives in a Westerville nursing home, owns the building and has been advised to sell in order to maintain her living expenses.

Founded in 1912, Eagle Candy is one of the longest-running family companies in Columbus and one of the oldest family-owned candy shops in the country.
