So long, Happy Buddha: China Dynasty set to close

Owners of Upper Arlington’s China Dynasty confirmed that the the popular Chinese restaurant will close on May 12.

Located at 1689 W. Lane Ave. at the Shops on Lane Avenue, China Dynasty has operated for for 32 years. Management cited the owners’ desire to retire as the reason for the closure.

Many will remember China Dynasty for their infectious radio jingle that payed homage to the restaurant’s trademark “Happy Buddha” statue.

The restaurant was also the scene of Upper Arlington’s first murder in eight years last June, when restaurant employee Charles McCoy was stabbed and killed by assailant Jeffrey B. Harrison.
