Champion of Sports: Meet Ohio athletics heroes at new exhibit

When you think of Ohio sports, you probably think of the Buckeyes, the Browns, the Bengals, and the Reds. But, behind the big names and bright lights are sports organizations all over the state who have helped build a reputation of hard work, dedication, and glory here in Ohio.

And that, dear readers, is exactly what the new Champion of Sports Exhibit at the Ohio History Connection aims to demonstrate.

“The Ohio Roller Derby. Doug Brown and his skateboards. The Toledo Mudhens. Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and Buster Douglas. Sarah Fisher and Katie Smith. All of these stories are unique Ohio stories and in just eight short months we will launch an exhibit that will share all of these stories and more,” reads the exhibit website.

The exhibit is set to open March 16, 2019 and run through Labor Day 2020.
