#BlockTheWall rally marching through downtown today
The inevitable moment has finally arrived: President Trump has declared a national emergency in order to build a wall along the southern border of the United States. In response, several local organizations have banded together to host a #BlockTheWall rally in downtown Columbus.
Stop Trump Columbus, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, Columbus Socialist Alternative, Columbus Sanctuary Collective, Women’s March Ohio, and many other local programs and their supporters will be gathering at Leveque Tower at 50 W Broad St. today at 11am.

“Trump declared a national emergency to fund a border wall for a fake crisis that he and his administration made up,” reads the #BlockTheWall Rapid Protest Columbus event description reads. “Immigrants are what makes America Great and they aren’t a epidemic, they’re human. The true national emergencies we face are Reproductive Rights, Gun Violence, Climate Change, Infant Mortality, and the Opioid Crisis… oh and Trump.”
Speakers at the rally will address the congregation with what they believe are “real epidemics our nation faces.”
Indivisible Columbus District 3 is also organizing an effort called “Stop the Fake Trump Emergency,” which will be held outside Senator Rob Portman’s office at 37 W Broad St.
