Hey Joe…Biden campaign lands in Columbus this weekend

Hey, Joe, where you going with that…presidential campaign? (Apologies to J. Hendrix, et al.)

Former Vice President and current candidate Joe Biden will make a campaign trail stop in Columbus on Saturday, June 1.

Biden will be the guest speaker at the Human Rights Campaign’s 2019 Columbus dinner, which will take place at the Ohio Union at the Ohio State University. The Human Rights Campaign is the nation’s largest LGBTQ rights organization.

Biden is the second of the 20+ Democratic candidates in the field to stump in Columbus so far. Candidate Elizabeth Warren, the senior Democratic senator from Massachusetts, visited the city earlier this month.

According to a story in the Washington Post, Biden’s Columbus visit is part of a relatively light campaign schedule. The former VP has held just 11 public events since announcing his candidacy four weeks ago.
