New medical marijuana dispensary now open in Arena District

The Botanist medical marijuana dispensary opened to the card-carrying public this morning at 115 Vine St. in the arena district.

This new dispensary—the fourth of its kind in Franklin county—joins Terrasana at 656 Grandview Ave., Bloom Medicinals at 1361 Georgesville Rd, and Verdant Creations Columbus at 1243 N. Cassady Ave. State law requires all dispensary visitors to be registered as medical cannabis patients or caregivers.

Under Ohio’s medical cannabis law, doctors can prescribe marijuana to treat medical conditions including AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and many more. The state regularly reviews other medical conditions for qualification, and recently ruled against adding anxiety and autism to the list.

It’s likely that The Botanist will soon have company as this rapidly growing field continues to expand. So far, the state has certified the operations for 43 dispensaries throughout the state.
