Phase 1 of highly-anticipated Scioto Peninsula project unveiled

Plans for the first phase of the highly-anticipated Scioto Peninsula project have arrived.

The Columbus Downtown Development Corporation announced six new buildings slated for six acres of the Scioto Peninsula in downtown Columbus. The buildings include an eight-story hotel, an 11-story residential building, an eight-story office building, plus another hotel, and two more residential structures.

Also planned is a 1,400-space parking garage between Starling Street and the railroad tracks which will be funded by the City of Columbus.

Three developers will tackle this first phase—Daimler will build the office element, Rockbridge will build the hotel, and Indianapolis-based Flaherty & Collins will build the residential portion.

Ten percent of the phase one units will be reserved and priced for households making 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), while another 10% will be at the 100%-of-AMI level, reports Columbus Underground.

Construction work could start as soon as this spring, according to the CDDC, with an estimated completion by the summer of 2022.
