“Truth is not being told,” Fred Lee’s lawyer questions sexual assault allegations

The lawyer representing Actual Brewery owner Fred Lee, who is being accused of multiple instances of sexual abuse, released a statement claiming the cover story Columbus Alive broke about the allegations is “highly inflammatory, exaggerated, and irresponsible” among other things.

“For an article titled ‘Multiple Women accused …founder Fred Lee of sexual assault,’ only 3 describe what could ARGUABLY be considered sexual assault, and their credibility is in very much in question by their own behavior (behavior that is inconsistent with being a victim of sexual assault),” wrote William Settina.

He also went on to include what he believes are several other reason why the article is inflammatory, including two of the victims being “sufficiently comfortable” with Lee to ride in his car after the claimed assaults and many of the allegations taking place “several years ago, as far back as 2012.”

Settina confirmed by email this statement from his office.

“There will be more to come. The truth is not being told,” he wrote.
