Up in Smoke: Clintonville marijuana dispensary accused of deceit, license revoked
With any new industry there are inevitable growing pains, and the budding field of medical marijuana is no exception. Harvest Inc., a marijuana producer which has already faced numerous problems in Pennsylvania, has now hit a major roadblock here in Ohio.
According to a report from the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Ohio Department of Commerce has placed all of Harvest’s dispensary licenses on hold pending an investigation by the state.

Documents obtained by the Enquirer seem to show that Harvest willfully misled state regulators when it claimed its Ohio operations were owned and controlled by an African American woman. The alleged deception would have potentially allowed Harvest to score higher than other applicants in the licensure process, which gives points to businesses which are majority-owned by a member of an “economically disadvantaged group.”
Officials with the State notified Harvest of plans to revoke its cultivation license in January. Harvest is now working to achieve “negotiated resolution” to resolve the situation.
