Vote for this local elementary student to get her Doodle on Google
Stephanie Sipe, a 10-year old fifth-grader at J.W. Reason Elementary School in Hilliard, has always had a flair for art but with your help, you could take her from a school scrawler to a Google Doodler.
According to This Week News, Stephanie is one of 53 other third- and fourth-graders around the U.S. competing in the Doodle4Google contest. The students were tasked with drawing what they hope to be when they grow up. Stephanie wants to become an astronaut, so her doodle depicts her and her best friend skating on Saturn. She calls it “Skating on the Rings of Saturn.”
The winner’s work will be displayed as the company’s logo on the Google homepage for a day. Voting began June 3 and continues through Friday, June 7.

The votes will determine five finalists, one each from five age groups spanning from kindergarten through the 12th grade, reports This Week News. Each of the five finalists will have their artwork displayed on the Google homepage for a day and win a trip to Google’s headquarters in California.
A panel of Google executives will select a national winner from among the five finalists who will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a technology package valued at $50,000 for his or her school, according to the contest website.
The other four national finalists each receive a $5,000 college scholarship.
