Did you know “Mardi Gras” is French for “Fat Tuesday,” the gluttonous day before Ash Wednesday when people participating in the Lenten season gorge themselves with rich, fatty foods? Unlike New Orleans, Columbus isn’t considered a traditionally ethnic French city that recognizes the purple, yellow, and green-adorn celebration.
