Pup living in “uninhabitable” drug house adopted by officer

A local dog trapped in a dangerous situation has found a new life with a Columbus Police officer.

With a search warrant in tow, the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Zone 2 Safe Streets Team raided a known drug house on S. Weyant Ave. earlier this week. Officers found a dog, “Kalli,” inside, living in “uninhabitable conditions,” according to Columbus Police.

Zone 2 Safe Streets Team assisted the Drug Enforcement Unit with a search warrant on a known drug house on S. Weyant Avenue. The officers found “Kalli” inside, living in uninhabitable conditions.

Franklin County Animal Control took possession of the dog, but not before a member of the Zone 2 Safe Streets Team fell in love with her. The officer went on to adopt Kalli.

She is now safe and “enjoying her new home!!” according to Columbus police.
