Happy Monday! Gateway and Wexner have some amazing documentaries in their virtual screening rooms this week: a 2020 Sundance award winner and an amazing exposé on barflies. A Mean Girls / The Nice Guys double-feature also stays at Studio 35 through the week, so that’s fun. Check out what else is on deck for this week below!

Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets

Toeing the line between unscripted documentary and slice-of-life anecdotes, local barflies come together for the final night of Roaring ‘20s, a Las Vegas dive bar with an eclectic consumer base. But the connections we see on the screen might not be as authentic as we’re led to believe and serve as a sobering juxtaposition for what’s going on with the bar industry today.

The Fight

Since the beginning of Mr. Trump’s presidency, the ACLU has filed nearly 200 lawsuits against his administration. The ACLU isn’t a problem-free organization, though. Takeaway quote: “The difference between the ACLU and the DOJ are the number of tattoos in the office.”
